Hradec Králové public transport card

The City Card has been used as a ticket carrier in Hradec Králové public transport for 20 years. That is, a plastic chip card in a blue design. The possibility of using the City Card is still valid for purchasing tickets. However, it is necessary to check its validity until the end of March 2026. Passengers who have already registered in Client zone and have added the city card as a ticket carrier, they do not need to take any action now. Otherwise, registration in the Client Zone must be made by the end of March. City cards that are not added to the Client Zone will no longer work in on-board readers as of April 1. To maintain validity, including transferring any credit balance, simply register in the Client Zone. Either on the website or in our customer centres. In any case, all City Card holders can check the validity by entering their City Card number in our form. Iredo cards will be usable in physical form and as an unaltered identifier.

Overview of the introduction of the City Card and the Client Zone

The original system of electronic check-in of public transport passengers in Hradec Králové was put into full operation by DPmHK on 1 January 2006 - the system had been in operation with the arrival of the Hradec Králové City Card, i.e. for more than 17 years, and no longer corresponded to modern trends of checking in public transport passengers using various carriers. In this system, all tickets and credit were entered directly on the City Card.

From March 2024, a new check-in system was launched, which is based on virtual cards (public transport accounts) of passengers and identifiers (different carriers). For the sake of a soft transition and the least possible burden on passengers, it was decided to operate both systems in parallel for a certain period of time. Now most of the original passengers who used the plastic City Card are already registered in the new environment - the Client Zone and the time has come to end the functionality of the original system.
