The Public Transport Company of Hradec Králové will launch the tourist train season on Wednesday, April 29th, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM in front of the East Bohemian Museum building. Visitors will be able to take a free ride every 15 minutes on a short route through the city center, and tickets for individual rides can be obtained on-site. The festive afternoon will also feature a stand from the Public Transport Company of Hradec Králové and the Municipal Police of Hradec Králové, offering attractions for children. Leo the Lion, Gustík, will also make an appearance at the event.

„I am pleased that the transport company is bringing joy not only to the youngest passengers through the tourist train and that this popular attraction regularly livens up the events in the city.“ said Zdeněk Abraham, Director of the Hradec Králové City Transport Company.

The season opening aims to remind the public that the tourist train will once again run through the city streets and into the city forests. From April 30th, it will begin operating on a standard schedule according to the timetable published on the transport company's website. The tourist train is intended for Hradec Králové residents as well as visitors to the city, and its route showcases the significant landmarks of Hradec Králové and their history. Information about operations and operating times is published by the transport company on its website.

The set consists of a locomotive and three carriages. Each carriage has 12 seats, so the train offers a total of 36 seats. The locomotive reaches a maximum speed of 25 kilometers per hour, the entire set is 18.1 meters long, and the carriages can be covered laterally in adverse weather. The train was manufactured by the Czech company Peterka & synové from Batňovice.
